What is Toonie Tuesday All About?
Born from a desire to foster in-person connection and joy, Toonie Tuesday offers 10 weeks of pure summer delight. Each Tuesday evening brings a brand-new, creatively themed event, meticulously planned by our dedicated summer ministry team. This year, our themes have been a blast! We’ve already explored the wonders of birds, learned essential first aid skills, and cracked codes in Mission Impossible. Looking ahead, we can’t wait to celebrate Christmas in July, journey with pirates, blast off into space, enjoy a special classical music concert, and, of course, host our highly anticipated annual talent show featuring incredible performances and an art display from our attendees!
Our goal is simple: to provide a safe, engaging, and inclusive space where individuals can connect with others, pray together, and participate in enriching activities. It’s more than just an event; it’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, explore faith, and create lasting memories that truly foster belonging and community.
Why a Toonie? It’s All About Empowerment!
You might be wondering about the “Toonie” in Toonie Tuesday. While we strive to keep our programs free whenever possible, this small admission fee came directly from feedback within our community. Many individuals told us they love the feeling of contributing, just as they budget for coffee with friends or a night at the movies. Paying a Toonie (just $2!) empowers participants, allows them to actively contribute, and elevates their experience, all while keeping the program incredibly affordable and accessible for everyone.
