We are beyond excited to kick off the Friendship From Home Bible Study on January 16, and today was a special day as we picked up the journals for our next unit! This study is titled Worship: Time with God, and it’s all about building a stronger relationship with God through worship—not just through singing, but by spending time with Him in meaningful ways.
This unit will guide us through:
- What we can say to God as we spend time with Him.
- What actions we can take when we spend time with God.
- Bible stories that show us what worship looks like in action.
Friendship From Home is an amazing opportunity for individuals with disabilities to grow in their understanding of faith and God’s Word. If you’re interested in joining or would like more information about future units, we’d love to connect with you. Please contact us at 204-479-4893 or email programs@hopecentreministries.org.
How Friendship From Home Works
Our Friendship From Home Bible studies combine live Zoom sessions with at-home participation kits to create an interactive, engaging experience. The best part? You don’t have to worry about missing a session because all lessons are recorded each week. That means if you can’t join live, you can still participate at your own pace. Simply request a kit, and you’ll receive everything you need to follow along on your own time.
For those who are registered for the study, Zoom sessions are held every Thursday, with five time slots to choose from:
- 11:00 AM
- 2:00 PM
- 4:00 PM
- 6:30 PM
- 7:30 PM
Once you select your time slot, you’ll stay with the same group for the duration of the unit, helping you build deeper connections with others. Our study lasts for 7 weeks and follows a simple pattern: Wonder, Explore, and Remember.

- WONDER Each unit starts with a fun item or visual to spark curiosity and get everyone thinking. It might not immediately make sense, but it’s all about creating a sense of wonder and excitement for the lesson to come!
- EXPLORE Next, we dive into the Bible story and explore what it teaches us about worship and our relationship with God. The visual from earlier often connects with the story to make the lesson more relatable and memorable.
- REMEMBER Finally, we interact with the lesson through hands-on activities and projects. This is where we can add to our journals and reflect on what we’ve learned.
Each unit is designed to foster a sense of belonging and community as participants grow in their faith. It’s a great way to meet new friends, learn together, and experience spiritual growth.
