A Gathering That Meant Something
There are some gatherings that feel different the moment you walk in.
April 19 was one of those days.
For 16 years, this space has held Sunday gatherings, songs, prayer, and community moments. Moments of celebration. Moments of uncertainty. Moments where we showed up for each other again and again.
And this time, we knew we were marking something significant.
Naming What Is Changing
Hope Centre Ministries will be saying goodbye to our program space at 81 Henderson.
We will not be able to gather there in the same way moving forward. The building is owned by MBCI, and they have made the decision to use the space to expand their school.
Our office at 83 Henderson will remain, so we can continue to meet and stay connected.
We are actively working on what comes next. Our Board is part of that process, and we will share more as plans take shape.
Holding Onto What Has Not Changed
Even as this changes, the heart of Hope Centre Ministries remains the same.
We are still Hope Centre Ministries.
We are still together.
God is still with us.
Belonging continues.
A Moment That Captured It All
Near the end of the gathering, we formed a circle that filled the space.
Program participants.
Staff.
Board members.
Volunteers.
Donors.
All connected.
Hands raised.
Holding one another and lifting one another.
As we sang:
My friends may you grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour
To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever amen
It was a picture of who we are.
A community that supports one another
A community that grows together
A community that belongs
A Reminder We Carry With Us
Each person received an H pin as they arrived, a small pin shaped like our Hope Centre Ministries logo.
A simple reminder with a clear message:
Hope Centre Ministries is not a building.
It is people.
It is connection.
It is belonging.
Wherever we gather, that is where Hope Centre Ministries is.
Moving Forward Together
This is a season of change.
It is okay to feel that.
This place has meant a lot.
And at the same time, we move forward together.
We are praying.
We are planning.
We are taking one step at a time.
We will continue to gather in different ways and in different places.
Because gathering has never been about where.
It has always been about who.
Looking Ahead to Summer
Because of this transition, our summer will look a little different.
Many of our programs have relied on gathering in this space, so we are taking time to reshape what summer will look like in this season.
And we are genuinely excited.
We are exploring new ways to gather. Smaller groups. Different locations. Creative ways to stay connected and continue building community as we step into what is next.
We will be sharing a clearer picture of summer programs near the end of May.

We Are Still Us

We carry this with us.
