As the summer sun begins to set on another beautiful season, we at Hope Centre Ministries are filled with gratitude. Summer is a unique and exciting time for us—a season of hands-on, in-person programs and new experiences made possible by the incredible energy of our summer ministry team.
This year, we were so fortunate to have four amazing students join us: Claire, Abby, Alia, and Kieran. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication not only helped us do more than we thought possible but also brought a new light and excitement to every gathering. Our weekly Toonie Tuesday events and mid-week park meetups were so loved and anticipated by our members, and it’s going to be hard to say goodbye.
A Summer of Creativity, Connection, and Care
This summer team was the heart and soul behind every moment of fun and fellowship. Each team member brought their unique gifts to the table, and we’re so grateful for the impact they’ve made.
- Kieran made every gathering an event. As our beloved mascot, Agape the heart, he brought endless smiles, engaged members in games, and modelled activities with infectious energy. Agape was truly the best!
- Alia, our in-house chef, brought an artistic flair to our food. Her creative and delicious snacks perfectly fit each weekly theme, serving up smiles alongside every treat. She also helped plan and lead engaging, art-focused activities and take home crafts.
- Claire was our activity mastermind. She focused on the hands-on experiences and ensuring that every event was filled with a mix of games, challenges, and group activities for everyone to enjoy.
- Abby was the creative genius behind the look and feel of our events. She worked tirelessly to transform our spaces with decor that fit the weekly theme, from crafting stars and moons to creating an atmosphere of adventure and delight.
This team’s passion made our summer programs a true reflection of our mission: to create a vibrant, Christ-centred community where every person can find belonging.
Carrying the Spirit of Summer Forward
As we say a heartfelt goodbye to Claire, Abby, Alia, and Kieran, we want to thank them for sharing their time, talents, and joy with us. Their dedication has left a lasting impact on our members, creating friendships and memories that will be cherished for years to come. We wish them all the best as they return to school or embark on their next meaningful opportunities.
While the summer season is ending, the spirit of connection and belonging they helped cultivate will carry on. We are so grateful for their role in making this a season of hope, fun, and unforgettable experiences.

Though the summer team is heading off, our work continues year-round. Our mission is to foster meaningful, Christ-centred relationships and provide spiritual care where individuals with disabilities can explore their faith, discover their gifts, and experience belonging.
